process
Once Formed Stone Designs Inc. has been chosen to supply concrete architectural components an estimated completion date for all work will be discussed.  A timeline of when significant decisions such as materials, shapes, finish, and approved shop drawings need to be finalized in order to meet our scheduling objectives will be created.

At this time we will require a scheduling deposit of 10% so that we can block off production time on our calendar for the work to be completed.  All quotes are valid for 30 days from date submitted.

Next step is to begin the sample process and initial shop drawings.  This is the most exciting part of the process.  Stone, sand and dyes can be adjusted to get the perfect colour/tone for your project.  We are always pleased to receive paint, flooring and cabinetry samples that will help us provide the desired match or contrast that you are looking for.

Once samples and shop drawings have been approved we will provide a final quote and will require a 40% production deposit in order to begin work.  The final quote is based on your original budget quote, taking into account dimensions, materials and finishes in your approved shop drawings and samples.

Production takes place at our shop in the Annapolis Valley, this allows us to build formwork and pour concrete in a controlled environment, and avoids any disruption of your home and other renovations.

We require approximately 6-8 weeks after we have received all deposits, the approval on shop drawings and samples to complete production.  This of course depends on the complexity of the shapes, availability of materials, number of pieces and how refined the finish.  Scheduling will be effected by any changes or additions made during the production process.

If approved shop drawings and samples are received outside of the timeline discussed at our initial meetings, either earlier or later, we will do everything we can to accommodate your needs, keeping in mind the complexity of the production process and scheduling.  We pride ourselves on keeping abreast of your building schedule and giving updates on production of your concrete counter tops.

While we do not install, we can provide technical information, and are always happy to arrange delivery at the contractors’ convenience.  If the cabinetwork is in place and the contractor is on site for the delivery we can assist in placing the countertops directly on the cabinets.

Balance payments are due upon delivery of each piece.  If components are to be delivered in quick succession, arrangements can be made for one balance payment upon delivery of the final piece.  This option must be agreed upon in writing prior to production beginning.

When we deliver the first piece we will provide a document that outlines the characteristics and care of your architectural components or counter tops.  concrete
